In 1895 Russell Hinton, the founder of our company, began his career as a desk polisher in San Francisco. Over time and during his travels, Mr. Hinton imported European craftsmen who displayed innovative and unique painting techniques. In 1985, to add to an already established interiors division, Russell Hinton Co. expanded its’ operation by adding a drywall division.

Since that time, Russell Hinton Co. has become a full service, premier painting and drywall firm with standards of quality surpassing its competitors. With more than 80 skilled tradesmen are dedicated union employees with a passion for quality and perfection in their work.

As a long time, well established painting and drywall firm, Russell Hinton Co. has participated in numerous high profile commercial and residential projects both large and small, all over the San Francisco Bay Area. We pride ourselves in having a highly reputable and respected standing in the San Francisco business community. We are also a member in good standing of the following associations:

What We Do

Russell Hinton has been painting San Francisco since 1895. Drywall and taping were added over thirty years ago. Our drywall division lays out the walls, installs the steel studs and sheet rocks over them. Our taping division gives you up to a level 5 skip, trowel or knockdown finish. Additionally the painting and decorating division is experienced in all areas of painting, wall covering, exterior waterproofing, Scuff Master and door and wood refinishing for a high-end look.
